Decentralized Social in Telegram Ads: Lens Protocol, Farcaster, Friend.tech, DeSo (2026)
How SocialFi and decentralized social protocols — Lens Protocol, Farcaster, Friend.tech, DeSo, Phaver — advertise in Telegram. 40+ creatives analyzed.
Decentralized Social in Telegram Sponsored Ads#
Decentralized social protocols give users ownership of their social graph and content — censorship resistance, token-gated communities, and creator monetization without platform intermediaries. Telegram Ads Spy catalogued 40+ unique creatives from Lens Protocol, Farcaster, Friend.tech, and DeSo.
Top Advertising Protocols#
| Protocol | Ads | Intensity | Model |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lens Protocol | ~14 | 7/10 | Social graph NFT |
| Friend.tech | ~12 | 9/10 | Key-based social trading |
| Farcaster | ~8 | 6/10 | Decentralized social network |
| Phaver | ~6 | 5/10 | Lens-based mobile app |
| DeSo | ~5 | 4/10 | Blockchain for social |
Creative Patterns#
Friend.tech drove the most concentrated ad burst in 2023–2024: "Buy your favorite creator's key and earn when they grow." The social trading model — where user popularity translates directly into token value — created FOMO-driven ad copy unlike any other DeSoc protocol.
Lens Protocol ads focus on creator ownership: "Your followers, your content, your data — all on-chain. Migrate away from Twitter/X anytime." Post-Musk Twitter acquisition (2022) and subsequent platform volatility gave Lens a strong narrative anchor for the 2023–2024 period.
Farcaster ads are distinctly developer-oriented — targeting builders who want to create on open social rails. The Warpcast client ads feature "build apps on Farcaster" alongside user-facing "join the decentralized social network" messaging.
SocialFi and Telegram: Natural Overlap#
Telegram itself is a semi-decentralized communication layer, and its users are already crypto-native. This makes DeSoc protocols a natural fit for Telegram advertising — the audience already understands the value proposition of censorship-resistant platforms.

The Attention Economy Inversion#
Traditional social platforms monetize user attention for advertiser benefit. DeSoc inverts this: user attention generates token rewards distributed to creators and early adopters. This "own your social graph" narrative is a genuine counter-positioning to Big Tech — and resonates strongly with Telegram's own crypto-native audience who already distrust centralized platforms.
